Hi,

I'm trying to increase ratio of download/upload. My dl is fine and pretty fast but it doesn't seed much and very slow upload speed, like less than 1.0kb/s or something(it fluctuates up to 50kb/s or something)whereas dl is like up to 1mg or so.

I have almost 150 torrents set to "seeding" but total upping is very low. I tried stopping all torrents(status "Finished") and set 5 or 6 torrents back to "Seeding" but still low upload speed.

How can I improve this situation so my ratio will go up? Having too many torrents, almost 150 slows down the upload speed?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Having same issue. Using  rutracker .org, have phenomenal download speeds (easy 1MB+). But having trouble balancing out my seeding ratio. Getting close to loosing my download "rights".
Are there any tricks to be able to just "open" some seeding pipes (so to speak)?

I'm having the same problem.  Download speeds around 8MB and uploading around 600kb/s but once the download has finished the upload rate drops down to 10kb/s.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if so how to fix it?  I want to be able to seed as much as I can.

Sory for the double post but I forgot to mention that seeding is fine on public trackers (2MB+) but it's rutracker.org that I'm having trouble with.

Looks like the problem you're having is that there's simply no-one to upload to. As such, there's nothing that can be done as you're trying to compete with other seeds on overseeded torrents.

"Download speeds around 8MB and uploading around 600kb/s"

That's ultra fast! Where are you located? what kind of internet service?

Thanks for the reply, Harold.

I'm new to bt.  I have some downloads that have leechers waiting but won't seed.  Some have been finished for awhile and have 0 ratio.  There are peers there though.  Am I doing something wrong?  Right now, I have two completed with zero bits uploaded.

On the General/Info tab with the torrent selected, what are the numbers for peers and seeds "x of y (z in swarm)" ?

I am having similar problems.  I am totally new to this whole process so please bear with me. My download for a 1.36 GB file took over an hour (it was successful), and I have left it 'seed' for over two hours after the download completed and it has only uploaded 9.8 Mb @ 1.8 Kb/s. If I exit out now am I going to end up being labeled a leech? This is a brand new computer running WIN 7, using comcast as my broadband provider in the Chicago region. Why are things so slow, but more worrisome is the 'leech' brand in the future if I don't wait 24 hours to get close to that '1.0' ratio. What have I done wrong?
right now it reads:  seeds:  0 of 3746 (11732 in swarm)
                     peers:  9 of 3583  (1683 in swarm)

Your problem is that you're dealing with a chronically overseeded torrent.
A problem basically exclusive to ratio enforcement trackers.
There isn't anything that can be done client side beyond making sure your client is reachable to solve it.

To administrator Harold Feit
I thank you sir, your response confirms that I am in over my head.  I know nothing of what you speak.  No harm, no foul..........I will pay the 7 bucks and go to the theatre, their pop corn is better than mine anyway.

http://www.speedtest.net - do the test with no torrents running (STOP, not pause)

OK,

So I created a torrent and I'm seeding it.  I don't have anything downloading (i stopped them all to try figure this all out) and I have peers connected.  The seeding process is not uniform.  Sometimes it seeds right then it seems to just freeze.  I'm very new to this and trying to get the terms like (update trackers) which for a second i thought helped but not really... help.

hi, im using utorrent, now i know there are prefreneces for the seeding ratio in utorrent (my min ratio is set to 150) but where can i tell how much of the seeded file has allready been uploaded? the file is 146mg. from what i can tell by looking at the bottom right hand corner there is an upload counter but it says U:0.3 kB/s T:350.0 kB, this cant be serious can it? & if you're wondering ive got my upload speed set at 50 kB/s! can anyone tell me how to increase this incredibly low seeding speed for utorrent or any other torrent client coz i cant leave my pc on all week to seed a 146mg file! im trying to do the right thing here but cant deal with the slowest of slow seeding speed. One thing i have noticed is its actually better to redownload the torrent, start downloading the file again & then people can upload from you straight away! i could be wrong but i think somewhere this system is flawed.
