Downloads not working or VERY slow

I have noticed over the past couple of months that my torrents will often stop working. They work fine in one part of the day and then suddenly they are not able to connect to any seeders or peers in the swarm. I look on the "trackers" tab and the trackers with the highest number of seeders say "working", but for some reason I am not able to connect to them. For example, for one file I am trying to download under seeders it shows: 0(975) and peers it says 0(195). On another it shows: seeders 2(93) (though nothing is downloading) and peers 0(81).
What is going on and how to I stop it from randomly "turning off"? And if it does turn off, how can I turn it back on again??
Thanks!

What internet security software do you have installed?
Who is your internet provider?

Similar issue here- painfully slow DL process (between .4kb and 24kbps)even with significant # of seeders- used to be 1200+ for me. I have cablevision as a provider.

I am running Windows 7 and am just using Microsoft Security Essentials. I live in Bangladesh and am using Qubee internet service. The problem is strange as it seems intermittent. Right now, for example, it is working just fine. Yesterday afternoon, however, it was hardly working at all (like 0.1 kbps if at all...)
Thanks!

I am having the same problem again. This afternoon everything was working fine; now, it shows that there are seeders and peers -- Seeds = 0(4614) and Peers = 0(1803) -- but I am not able to connect to them and my download speed went from 60 kB/s to 1.2 kB/s... Any clue why this is happening??

Yeah I have the same problem as well. My torrents will download fine for about 20 minutes and then it just stops and like it chokes my internet connection so I can't start the download again or use the internet until I restart my router. I have Avast internet security.

I'm sorry for locking this thread, but I repeatedly asked for information that many of you refused to give.
