What happens if after someone downloads a source file using a torrent, they change the data in the source file, and then continue seeding? Would this corrupt the data for all the other peers that are still downloading? Is there something that prevents this?

Changing Data in source file?

I have a related question. What if the prime source of the torrent (the torrent creator) has their file/folder changed, would this reflect to the leechers or other seeders? I was thinking of using the bittorrent protocol to distribute updated/patched game installations across LAN. So the main PC would keep it's game installations up to date, then all other PC's would copy the file/folder until every PC has the updated copy. Is this arrangement possible? Thank you so much...

No, a new torrent would need to be created.
