please make Percentage a different option than Download/status like the previous version; because I usually make the tabs thin enough so that it just shows "D" and "%" seperately. Having them in one tab only makes it so it has to be fully visable such as "Downloading 91.7%" and if you try to thin the tab, you only see "D" and not the %.

It's very frustrating; I may as well go back to the older version for this feature.

Jo, in the download window, highlight the file that you want to change. In the window below, click on the file tap. select the files that you don't want to download, right click and select "don't download"

Wow. Just wow. Someone should get fired for this atrocity. Namely, your lead designer, because they can't tell their ass from a hole in the ground in design. How the hell did this garbage pass QA? I wish I read this thread before upgrading, because this version is such crap. When can we upgrade to the previous user-friendly version? Change for the sake of change helps keep things fresh in say, an MMO. In a utility program though? What where you guys thinking? Was being user friendly considered a bug?

Also Jo, while you are there. Scroll down one to UI settings.Under WHEN ADDING TORRENTS. Select Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent in advance mode.

Gonna add my 2 cents after reading every post. True, the older version was easier to use...because we were used to it. And if I could go back in time, I probably wouldn't have "upgraded" to the newer version.

However, by actually taking the time to read, and by clicking my mouse button in a few areas (which I found instructions on by reading before opening my mouth - or typing in this instance) I've been able to make the new version virtually the same as the old. For people who are likely computer savvy, acknowledged by the fact that we're using a program like this in the first place, I'm amazed by how many of you appear inept by simply complaining and throwing in the towel before finding such SIMPLE solutions!

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly: IT'S FREE!!! You're using a FREE program to download FREE content!!!!! It's a frigging GIFT. Remember programming your own web pages with HTML/Javascript/etc? Remember Yahoo! or Lycos before that or Webcrawler before that? Remember 9.6k dialup modems and it taking 5 minutes to download a single .jpeg file from a Usenet group? Remember thinking, "Man, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread?" Remember when there was no Internet; no cell phones; no remote control for your tv; a dial with 13 numbers on it that you had to get up off your lazy butt and turn every time you wanted to watch another channel; remember that only 3 of those 13 channels ever actually worked - the 3 major networks; the only time you could watch cartoons as a kid was on Saturday mornings; remember riding your bike or playing baseball or shooting things with a bb gun for fun; remember when punishment was being made to stay in the house? Hell, punishment for my daughter would be making her leave the house...to go be human again...to take away her computer or cell phone or DirectTV. She, like all others of her generation have lost the people skills that we used to obtain from actually interacting with other human beings face to face.

So please just take a step back, look at the situation for what it is, and ask yourself if you really should be complaining. BTJunkie recently shut down, which was initially the end of the world for me, but guess what, I found other sites. And guess what, sooner than later those sites will be gone too. Guess what, sooner than later you won't even be able to use this software anywhere because the copyright infringement nazi's will eventually win.

Be thankful for what we have, for what we have that's FREE! That's just my 2 cents.

i think the new version 7.6 is good. all the old features are present. you just need to toggle the view and make a few changes in the settings.

Congrats for the new version

I can't seem to find any way to have the new version ask me where to put files, and also let me check what parts of a torrent I want to download, in case I don't want the whole thing. Now the new version doesn't ask and automatically starts downloading the entire file, whether I want it all or not. Is there any way to change this? if not, why did you take away that feature?

it is my only complaint. some of the torrents that i want, i don't want all of the torrent. bittorrent seems to be more reliable than the others, but this one feature seems to not make it into the updates. what gives?

It was NOT taken away.
As discussed in a dozen threads already, it was not removed.

I don't understand why people can't just snoop around a few buttons and settings to make it virtually the same as before but with the additional features that actually make this version a little better.

Everything has been running smoothly and things look basically identical. Just take some time to read/look around before posting about the same stuff tons of others have posted about that could easily be fixed by a few clicks.

Enable the column view by toggling your torrent view and then enable the column you want by right-clicking the column headers for the columns you have.
