ucrbuffalo
I can't seem to figure out what is causing this or how to fix it, so I am coming to the forums for help. When I save a torrent file, I always rename it with a code, so I can sort them when I need to find something later. For example, if a downloaded torrent has the file name "TVShow S01E01.torrent", I rename it to "[TV] TVShow S01E01.torrent". BitTorrent operates exactly as expected when I open the torrent. But after the torrent finishes and begins seeding, a duplicate is created with the original file name. Is there a way to stop this from happening? My current theory is that when BT seeds a file, it needs the original naming scheme for the file that other users would have, so if it can't find that file, it creates it from the one it opened. Any thoughts?
Harold Feit
BitTorrent uses a stored copy based on the INTERNAL name of the torrent, not based on the name you give it when you save it from the site. Don't use the .torrent storage settings if you don't have a VERY good reason to.
