i/o Device Error

I am not very good with computers and am not sure what this means. I have tried googling it but it does not seem to have an answer to this problem.

i save my downloads to a folder on desktop (c:) i tried changing the directory to a folder in documents but i still get this damn message!!
Any ideas of whats going on? i cant d/l anything!
