Beta Announcement - Project Chrysalis

Since we released the alpha of Project Chrysalis in March, we’ve been grateful for the support and feedback of the BitTorrent Mainline community. Project Chrysalis is an exercise in making BitTorrent software more accessible to users by simplifying the user experience and adding features that fit with the increasingly social nature of the web while making good use of the underlying technology.
We just released the beta version of the software, and we would appreciate your continued support to help us make the new client everything you want and need. Download it and then tell us what’s right and wrong, what works and what doesn’t, and what’s missing.
Today's release has a brand new feature, personal content channels. Now, you will be able to easily send all of those massive files you've created - for example smartphone videos and hi-res pictures - to all of your friends and family directly from your BitTorrent software. Check out our blog for more details on getting started or see our FAQ page.
Project Chrysalis retains all the power of the original BitTorrent Mainline at the core, with a redesigned user interface and new features. The beta is not yet feature-complete. Many additional controls, UI improvements and new features have not yet been turned on and will be added in the coming weeks/months. (Many are the result of the feedback you have been providing.)
A Windows PC is required, preferably running Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. The beta is only available in English at this time. If you download it and would like to switch back to your old BitTorrent client, first stop the client from running and then reinstall the old version available here.
We've released Project Chrysalis beta with several improvements over the previous alpha, release highlights:
- New personal content channels
- New speed notifications
- CPU usage improvements
- Smaller memory footprint
- Stability fixes
Thank you – Catherine

Sometimes the download speed is freezing and is changing after five seconds only in the UI, if you look at the icon in taskbar the download speed is different (also, applies for the specified time left for download).
After using the "pause" function, the torrent isn't downloading (the speed is very slow).
When I click on the icon for information, the slide effect has a slight tendency to freeze.
After using the "remove" function, the files downloaded are still intact.

Too simplified for me - I will go back to the previous version because I cannot control things in the main page anymore.
uTorrent may be a better choice for me anyway - the beta goes too far in dumbing down things and gives little to no indication of things I am used to seeing.
Fail

Good comment, i.e. useful. Dumbed-down programs confuse me. I like to know what I am doing and why. Will download the older version today.
One question: I need to install software for each web browser separately? It looks that way.
Thanks,
AliMcJ

How do I set the file priority? How do I tell it to Not download specific files?
the menu bar is a miss & i cannot allocate bandwidth. Even with ''select files to download'' option on, ths option doen't start. Overall new version is faster. Put new tutorials & a help menu to help one become familiar as to where everything is.

Everyone needs to understand that when beta testing a new program you're not going to have all the options you are used to. Instead of being rude and down playing this new program you should have the mind set of finding out what does and does not work. That is the point of testing. By downloading the beta version and installing it you accepted to be a guinea pig. Well, from the comments I have read, only maybe, and I say MAYBE, two of the people who posted actually posted something useful. These kinds of programs are going to open a whole new form of communicae, and you all just want to bash on it. If you don't have anything useful to say, keep it to your freakin self!
