data error ( cyclic redundancy check)

hey,

i was downloading a file . it reached 50% then it said "data error ( cyclic redundancy check)" would anyone know what is wrong with it?and how to fix it?

That would indicate hard drive or hard drive controller failure.

It would depend on which part is actually failing.
You may be able to solve it by checking your downloads drive for errors (Properties of the drive in "My Computer" -> Tools tab) but if it's the controller or cabling, that won't solve it.
