Accidentally removed torrents from client, how to restore?

Hi.

Well, I accidentally removed about 20 movie torrents from the list in Bittorrent client.

They are fully downloaded and still exist in my hard drive.

They were downloaded as magnet links, so I don't have the .torrent files.

Is there any way to put them again on the client's list, so I can seed them?

Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem. computer crashed, now i have downloads that are partly completed. I had to save everything, then completely restart windows. how can i get the new bittorrent to find the parts of downloads i have and continue. (essentially moving the incomplete download back to the bittorrent program.) also, thank you in advance.

Thanks for your replies.

I had a couple of satisfactory answers from the Piratebay forum:

"First you must have hidden folders enabled to be seen, this is found within folder options in the control panel. then the folder path is:

C:\Users\#USER#\AppData\Roaming\Bittorrent

Everything you have downloaded should have a metadata .torrent file located there."

And..

"You can simply go back to the torrent posting pages and grab the magnet link or torrent file again.

Since you already have all the data, you will be rejoining the swarms as a seeder."

Thanks again.

Hi guys.try this,

1.normally if you delete a file through bit torrent client( without going to the download location and manually delete them) files are stored in recycle bin.cut paste the .torrent file to the desktop.

2.select all your accidentally deleted files and click restore.files will be restored in the original location as they were before you deleted them.

3. now double click the .torrent file in the desktop.next you will be asked to choose files tht you want to download.select "select non" and click next.(means do not select anything.just leave it blank)

4.client will automatically start to check files.once it's done it will start seeding even if it is not a completed file.leave it there and move to the next step.

5.select files tab next to the info tab.now you will see all the files are marked their status as 'Skip' under priority tab.

6.select all of them and right click.set the priority level as normal or high.client will start to continue downloading(unfinished files) those files again.now its done!!

reply me back if this works.

good luck

This works!!! The torrent when added again, will check each file, so if you have like large downloads setup, the checking takes time. it's a bit slow, though I'm not sure if it's specific to me or not.

I REALLY wish there was an easy way to do this on Mac [preferably built into the client itself].

I have seen youtube videos and read tutorials showing a fairly easy way on windows, but nothing for mac.

Is there somewhere I can put in a feature request for this ??

An "undo delete" button or function would be amazing in BT.

......................

I've just accidentally deleted a whole bunch of things, and unfortunately, unlike some clients,

the torrents were not moved to the trash in their folders,

but as individual files !!! ):    :o  :(

If the client at least put files in the trash in their original folders and folder structures, it would be easy to manually restore back  into the client.

Just an absolute impossible nightmare to sort back again !! I don't have the time for that, and I'll probably just have to re-download them instead.

[and try to figure out exactly what got deleted.]

The "put back" function in the mac trash does not work either when the torrents were deleted through BT.

..................

Just because of this lack of feature / the way bittorrent deletes things , I have to return to Vuze for many things ):

which I don't really want to do.

Vuze sucks, man. Don't do it. Here's what I did to recover my torrents:

1. Open Finder

2. Do CMD + Shift + G

3.Type in "~/Library/Application Support"

4. Find the uTorrent folder

5. Ta-da! There should be all the .torrents you've ever downloaded on magnet links.

So, do the equivalent of what Sheepland said but on mac.
