  1. So I get an error message whenever I try to add a torrent to my torrent list. I've done some googling, but no one seems to have fixing my issues. I've checked the labels tag, and tried opening it multiple times by clicking the arrow. I've tried added them manually and many other things. Thanks for your help in advance.
  2. Howdy great peeps, Was trying to upload a torrent multiple times now yesterday & it gets stuck at around 60% (tried uTorrent too) Left the computer on for about 8 hours & nothing.. Is there an issue I don't know of? Would gladly accept help! Much greetings, Mike
  3. Hello all, I using a 17inch macbook pro from 2010, running OSX 10.9.4. I've downloaded bit torrent, but everytime I download a torrent file, it shows up on my computer as a disk mounted img or (.dmg) file and when I click on it, it just opens up the installer for MPlayerX......everytime with every torrent! Anyone know what could be the nature of this issue? Thanks for all responses!
  4. There is a option in Bit-torrent to add a torrent from end user directory, but it wont work and can't be seen or downloaded if it isn't uploaded to a specific storage web space on internet I was wondering is it possible to add a Add torrent function without the need to upload the torrent file to internet, so it can be accessed directly for other users from Bittorent. Example:1 Maybe once I add my torrent from my directory, somehow the Bittorent can index it on the fly or something and save it to temporary location until is downloaded from other users and after that can be flagged as active torrent and from that point somehow it will automatically gets uploaded to internet, to a random or specific location.
  5. I have a Linkstation 420 NAS with BitTorrent built in. When going to the preferences I am unsure what and where I am supposed to set my files to go. I have noticed that there are an 'active' and 'torrent_files' folders in the BitTorrent folder. Which of these should I be using for; " Put new downloads in" "Move completed downloads to" "Store torrents in" "move torrents for finished jobs to" and what is best practice for the final files. I'm open to suggestions Thanks Torbs
  6. So, I'm new at the whole torrent and downloading business, but a few months ago I downloaded it onto my old windows 7 laptop, and it worked perfectly! The downloads were slow due to internet speeds, but I didn't have any problems. i recently got a new laptop, intalled all my programs, made sure they were suited for the new operating system, bit, etc. and ever since I installed BitTorrent, it isn't working. The little arrow stars out green, it says it's downloading but I have 0 peers and it is 0% for a few minutes and then the arrow turns red. I've purposely tried to download ones that have lots of peers and are frequent downloads to see if it's just that, but so far nothing is working. I restarted and still no results. I know uTorrent has their own forums and stuff, but I figured I would mention that I've also tried that program and still, no results. I'm pretty sure my computer isn't blocking it because I made an exception in firewall, I'm not sure if it's my internet just yet because I'm going to try on a different wifi connection to see if that makes a difference, but the speed isn't the problem. I will keep trying different things, but I figured I'd like some responses and suggestions sooner rather than later before I leave fast wifi Windows 8 64 bit BitTorrent 7.9 (checked for updates, it's the newest)
  7. A year ago I created a torrent with about 100 files. Now a year later I want to create a new torrent wich includes the 100 files from the previous torrent and about 50 new files. All these files are on my computer, but the old torrent has a lot of peers and seeders and I like to include those peers/seeds for the 100 files wich many people already have downloaded. I already found a option called "Similair Torrents" wich seems wat I need but I cannot find an explanation about it (don't know what to put in there). (see arrow in included image) Maybe someone can help me out? Tanks in advance, WhiteFang PS: sorry about my bad english
  8. Greetings: I'm running BT 7.8.2 (build 30332) and have been using this product for a few years now. I've never run across this situation before. Googling the 'error' has provided no assistance, yet. I have a torrent of debian-update-7.2.0-i386-DVD-1.iso that, in the Tracker Status column indates "Failure: torrent not found". However, the torrent has currently downloaded over 80% of the 3.87GB and also is uploading. Is this a problem? If so, what to do? Thanks!
  9. First off, here's my speed test results http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3118536088 I started downloading Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag first the torrent was rising until 50-55 kb/s, my regular speed is 100 kb/s, then the speed started decreasing til it reached 0.2 kb/s, 0.1 kb/s, then it disappeared, after a few minutes it started rising til about 12 kb/s then kept going up and down between 34 kb/s & 19 kb/s, I was downloading CoD Black Ops II and it was running at full speed until it was finished, so it's really starting to piss me off and this is 23 GB so I really need the speed, if someone can please help me out here, I'd be very grateful.
  10. I'm a bit of a newb, I've been using torrents no problem for a number of years now via downloading torrent files from popular torrent sites. I want to start making my own torrents to share files with my friends, but I have been failing miserably. I'm currently on Mac OSX10.8.4 cable attached to an Airport Extreme and I'm using Transmission and BitTorrent. DHT and PEX are enabled, and my port is open with a green light in both programs. I create a torrent, add a few different public trackers that are verified to be working, and on my computer everything looks great and it says I'm seeding. When my torrent is added to a bittorrent client on another computer it says there are 0 peers and nothing happens. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to all the internet settings, and most of it is set to automatic, but I've never had a problem shareing files with torrents others have created. Please help a guy just trying to give back to the torrent community! Thanks!
  11. So in the advanced features of the BitTorrent client you can have it run a program after a torrent finishes, or when the state changes.. Do you know of a client that does that, except in regular intervals, I basically want the client to update another program about the status of the download (Speed, peers, ETA, how much is left, etc).. and it doesnt really matter how (could run an external program at a given interval, or update an external text file with the info the other program can access). Is this by some means possible?
  12. Hey guys so over the past couple of days my torrents have just stopped and have no health with zero seeds or peers, Ive tried downloading new torrents and it just doesnt work. When I go to check for updates for bittorrent it says it cant connect to the server?? Please Help someone!
  13. bittorrent client is not responding to magnet links every now and then i get bittorent is not responding please close it and try again when ive clicked a magnet link , this seems to happen after a pc restart , ive uninstalled all versions of vuze and utorrent so its not a conflict with another client, ive used ccleaner to remove crap , ive tried firefox and ie browser and both browsers give same message so its definately the bittorrent client acting up ..so why does it do this ? ive closed it and tried to get torrents using magnet links about 12 times now and restarted my pc a few times and i still cant get it working again. with exactly the same set up bittorent was running fine for many days, only other thing i can think of is windows just installed a dozen updates but im sure its not that..something causes bittorent to not respond to magnet links even though its working and downloading torrents i previously added help ! thanks bittorent client wont let me add any magnet link , ive just tried about 20 different torrents magnet links and i just keep getting the same message " it seems like bittorrent is already running but not responding , please close all bittorrent processes and try again " im turning into mr angry now ! this must be some bug in the software but why it happens after days of running fine is beyond me. please help asap thanks ps im using openvpn incase that has anything to do with it.
  14. I just had that damn checked 0.0% problem again and i was updating things and running scans to fix things to see if they might help. I've tried all of the accepted methods to fix the problem, like ending the bittorrent process, restarting the computer, forced recheck (actually grayed out), and other basic stuff. So i also decided to clean my computer with my well-trusted Advanced Systemcare by Iobit. I was unaware that the internet problems section or privacy issues or some other option would have wiped out my torrent information as that has never happened in the past. So, I had a torrent that was 22.8 GB at 99.5% when this happened along with several other large torrents, so you can understand that I do not want to restart the entire torrent download, because that would take up a lot of time and bandwidth. Is there any way I can get my magnet/torrent information back to the way it was previously so that I do not have to restart all of my downloads? Thanks for any help offered.
  15. Hi, In need of help, have been using bittorrent for several years with no problems whatsoever, But all of a sudden i start a download and im getting download speeds of 8 to less than 1kbps. My internet connection is around 2mbps and bittorrent is configured properly. I have run test (ctrl-G) and it comes out positive, with 2mbps+ dl speed. There also seems to be random spikes where the dl speed goes upto around 80kbps for a few mins then drops back to 8-1kbps (my upload speed is similarly affected by these random speed spikes, but NOT at the same time as dl speed) Here is my speedtest.net result: Yet my client looks like this: Thanks, and hopefully i can find the way to fix this.
  16. I'm using Ralink RT5390R 802.11n WiFi Adapter and Windows 8, and after I use a torrent program like BT or utorrent (which works just fine) I am unable to put my computer to sleep. The screen turns black like it is about to go to sleep, but it keeps working really hard instead of going fully into sleep mode. Once this happens, the computer becomes totally unresponsive and I have to force shut down the laptop (HP Envy) by holding down the power button (otherwise it will just rev really high doing nothing forever - or until the battery dies). I know it is my WiFi adapter that is causing the problem for two reasons: 1. this problem does not occur when I am able to use the torrent program with an ethernet cable (no WiFi) and 2. when i try to disable/re-enable the driver after using the program, the whole device manager window and the WiFi driver itself become totally unresponsive - at which point I have to restart the computer for the WiFi adapter to become functional again. I have checked and changed the power settings, that was not the problem. I have also tried reinstalling the driver (though I may not have done that properly). I have searched a number of times for a solution to this problem, but have yet to see anyone else with the same problem. Maybe I just really suck at searching for solutions. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
  17. I'm failrly new to using BitTorrent (4 months) but with the help of reading many pages and watching video's I was able to set up my BTC and recently I have had problems with the last two torrents I have created not uploading fully. I have been seeding a file that is 1.3GBs for over 48 hours and it is still not fully uploaded. I'm not sure what the problem is as when I have made torrents in the past they have been simple to upload and share. Now I have many leechers (and from reading I know this isnt good) and I'm the only seeder showing on my uploaded torrent. I have googled and read many threads from many forums but still can not get a direct solution on how to solve this. Is there anyone that can possiably help me? I'm willing to send screen shots to solve this. Also when I first started downloading torrents and uploading I really did not have them organized and I would like to do this but i know if I move them it would not be good. I would like some direction in moving my torrents into 3 organized files. Thank You and Your Help is Much Appreciated. I'm sending a screen shot of what I see in my BitTorrent availability.
