  1. Hello, I'm from Russia, but I suppose I'll be able to describe the problem I have. A while ago I turned off the notifications (and the sound of them) of BitTorrent's finished downloads in the Settings menu of Windows 10 (you know, where you can edit the apps that show notifications, look at the screenshot) and now when I want to turn it on, the icon of BitTorrent is gone. I talked with Windows support, but they said something's wrong with my client. I updated it, but the problem still appears. What should I do?
  2. I'm running Bittorrent 7.9.2 on Windows 7 64, and ever since I tried to disable the annoying ads (particularly the left hand one that takes up about 1/4 of the window), I have not been able to reliably download anything. After spending a few hours fiddling with settings, I can usually get downloads going again - temporarily. With no repeatable pattern found as yet. I'm using a random port #, that is port-forwarded through my Linux firewall. Network tests are always good (unless I turn off both uPNP and NAT-PMP). Running Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, and regularly pause protection or exit it to try and get downloads working again, no luck. I have also tried resetting Winsock, last time I tried downloads resumed the second time I rebooted after executing the command, so it may not have been related. I was going to include details from the Info tab of a test torrent, but it's all 0's except the hash, added date, directory, etc. The trackers tab is also un-enlightening, with that specific torrent showing a working http tracker with plenty of seeds/peers. Others vary, with some hostnames not found (probably shut down), or connections timed out. But they do all appear to have at least one working tracker, with seeds/peers located - but not one single successful connection (staying up), incoming or outgoing. Traffic shows between 0.5-10 KB/s of overhead, no data traffic. I just found the statistics window, which shows 1509 incoming connections since start, 0 outgoing, 1411 handshake, 651 connections, 8 half-open (0 queued). Looks like the client is refusing to accept or make connections. The ONLY thing working properly at the moment, is the ads. Suspecting that disabling the ads was coded to cripple downloads and make people pay for Pro, I have reset all Advanced options to default (except the gui.show_notorrents_node one, which seems to reset itself to false after I reset it to the default of true), without success. Occasionally while starting up the client I will see an Active torrent (usually a seed), but that will go away within a few minutes. Some of the torrents I currently have at 0 KBps and 0 peers connected, are listed as having over 1000 peers, so it is definitely not a lack of peers to download from. I can add a torrent to qBittorrent and it works perfectly (including on the same port #, if I shutdown Bittorrent first), but lacks one or two features I prefer about Bittorrent. Any assistance would be appreciated. I would really rather not have to find another torrent client.
  3. Hello! My terminological english is not even satisfactory but I will try and explain my problem. I've been downloading torrents (through magnet) for 2 or 3 years now and all the files that I planned to download were listed in BitTorrent, I had 300+ not downloaded and 150+ downloaded torrents. And today when I turned on my computer, BitTorrent started like it always does, but it was empty- there wasn't even 1 torrent left. I hope you can help!!!
  4. Hi, I have just update to the latest version of my BitTorrent Client for mac, which is 7.4.2. After this, I'm not being able to customize the toolbar. For example, I'd like to have the 'search' and 'upgrade' buttons removed and 'up and down queue' added, but once I quit the application and reopen it, it goes back to the default toolbar. This is getting really annoying. Hope someone can help me.
  5. I was going through and adding several magnet links from a site. the first 8 or so were having no issues. I even watched the first download to finish. after the 8, maybe 10th, the link added, then BT crashed. every time i open it, it will instantly crash again. no error message at all. i tried un-installing the client and re-installing and it still does it.
  6. Hello to the Bittorrent Client Technical issue and troubleshooting group. So, I am using the client for a large amount of data and library transfer. The process is long and unstable. I have lost a large portion of data. Three or four hard disk drives, ranging from 160 gigabytes to 1 terabyte. External and internal. Maybe five? My issues and common goals! The group helping me with the transfer is a group. The group is very unorganized. I have to deal with a very large amount of files and folders. Some file transfers can include similar folder names containing different files. Some file transfers can include similar folder names with similar file names in the same file format. So far I am unable to determine whether the Bittorent Client supports any type of "Explorer" moving, copying or renaming file protocols. The Bittorrent preferences do not list similar options. The Bittorrent 'hash' keys and the .torrent files provide the current file 'check-sum' for the current running torrent. (ex.g. "/the_folder_name/file_name.ext" might overwrite previously downloaded files) (file attachment include the actual error)
  7. So in the advanced features of the BitTorrent client you can have it run a program after a torrent finishes, or when the state changes.. Do you know of a client that does that, except in regular intervals, I basically want the client to update another program about the status of the download (Speed, peers, ETA, how much is left, etc).. and it doesnt really matter how (could run an external program at a given interval, or update an external text file with the info the other program can access). Is this by some means possible?
  8. Hi, In need of help, have been using bittorrent for several years with no problems whatsoever, But all of a sudden i start a download and im getting download speeds of 8 to less than 1kbps. My internet connection is around 2mbps and bittorrent is configured properly. I have run test (ctrl-G) and it comes out positive, with 2mbps+ dl speed. There also seems to be random spikes where the dl speed goes upto around 80kbps for a few mins then drops back to 8-1kbps (my upload speed is similarly affected by these random speed spikes, but NOT at the same time as dl speed) Here is my speedtest.net result: Yet my client looks like this: Thanks, and hopefully i can find the way to fix this.
