  1. Can someone pls help me , i got that resently and i cant download anything with bitTorrent or utorrent or bitcomet. It says finding or connecting to peers. i tried disabling my antivirus , firewall , updating . I dont know what to do. On my trackers it says they are not allowed an on 1 of them says proxy connection.
  2. I had BitTorrent for a while now, but about a week ago every torrent I downloaded didn't progress from the connecting/finding peers stage. I don't understand why it happens, and I uninstalled and installed the .exe again yet the bug continues.
  3. Hello. I just downloaded BitTorrent and added a torrent. It started downloading metadata and stayed on "Connecting to peers". I tried with other torrents from other sites but I got the same result. I already tried to change VPN, but it still doesn't download. How can I solve? Thanks in advance
  4. All of a sudden my BitTorrent cannot locate peers. I load a good torrent and the client just sits there looking and waiting to connect. It happens in Linux as well, so I assume it is an internet connection problem. How can I determine that my ISP may be throttling?
  5. My torrents have worked for about 2 weeks and have downloaded fine, but a few days ago, whenever i try to download a torrent, it always stays stuck at connecting to peers. Sometimes it goes to Downloading... 0.0%, but then it goes back immediately to connecting to peers. I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security.
  6. So, I've been using Bit Torrent for... actually, maybe about three years now that I think about it (Moving on, before the fact that I've spent three years using one application, baffles me into incoherence) and I do apologize if anything you find in this post... distasteful to your good sense of proper file sharing (You'll get what I mean) See the Disclaimer. DISCLAIMER: The only reason I know how to use Bit Torrent, is because I asked a friend to walk me through it and knowing how incapable I am with technology (If I were to describe my skill, without aid, in finding or using applications and services online (Like Steam and all that jazz) I wouldn't say I'm on the same level as a vegetable, but I am at the grandparent level; pretty much useless) he wrote me a double-side looseleaf (and went into crazy detail, he really packed the words onto that page) with instructions, so again, if I'm doing something horribly wrong, (I asked Reddit a few weeks ago, an answer or two popped up and the rest was scorn for how I used Bit Torrent) Please, correct me on the errors of my ways and that alone may be enough to solve whatever issues I may be having. So, really, knowing so little about what I'm doing and just following my buddy's instructions, this is probably going to be the short part of my cry for help. I've rarely ever had problems with Bit Torrent in the past, but as of late, I have been having trouble getting downloads to simply start and when they do, the down and upload speed very quickly shrivel and die, blowing away in the wind. It's been nearly a month now since I've been able to get a single torrent up to 60% before it shit out on me. So, as far as I can tell you, HONESTLY, this is the problem I'm having and I have no deeper knowledge for the cause. I'll be checking back every couple hours of the day, so if you need to know something or post something so you can see the issue for yourself, I can. Just please remember, I'm just two-steps short of being brain-dead when it comes to this stuff, so please be very detailed and patient with me. Otherwise, we'll both just end up frustrated. I appreciate all the help I may receive and to those of you who figure out the issues I'm having, I offer blessings by the hundred fold (DISCLAIMER 2: I am in no way politically, religiously or economically licensed to offer or give out "Real" blessings, but I'll see if I can pull some strings for you kind people) Gratefully yours, Wesley Robert Simpson
  7. Whenever I start a torrent (whether it be downloaded or magnet link) it is always stuck on connecting to peers and the ETA is the infinite sign. I've tried deleting and replacing trackers, deleting resume.dat, and setting max bandwidths. Is there any fix yet? I am on the latest version.
  8. I'm running Bittorrent 7.9.2 on Windows 7 64, and ever since I tried to disable the annoying ads (particularly the left hand one that takes up about 1/4 of the window), I have not been able to reliably download anything. After spending a few hours fiddling with settings, I can usually get downloads going again - temporarily. With no repeatable pattern found as yet. I'm using a random port #, that is port-forwarded through my Linux firewall. Network tests are always good (unless I turn off both uPNP and NAT-PMP). Running Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, and regularly pause protection or exit it to try and get downloads working again, no luck. I have also tried resetting Winsock, last time I tried downloads resumed the second time I rebooted after executing the command, so it may not have been related. I was going to include details from the Info tab of a test torrent, but it's all 0's except the hash, added date, directory, etc. The trackers tab is also un-enlightening, with that specific torrent showing a working http tracker with plenty of seeds/peers. Others vary, with some hostnames not found (probably shut down), or connections timed out. But they do all appear to have at least one working tracker, with seeds/peers located - but not one single successful connection (staying up), incoming or outgoing. Traffic shows between 0.5-10 KB/s of overhead, no data traffic. I just found the statistics window, which shows 1509 incoming connections since start, 0 outgoing, 1411 handshake, 651 connections, 8 half-open (0 queued). Looks like the client is refusing to accept or make connections. The ONLY thing working properly at the moment, is the ads. Suspecting that disabling the ads was coded to cripple downloads and make people pay for Pro, I have reset all Advanced options to default (except the gui.show_notorrents_node one, which seems to reset itself to false after I reset it to the default of true), without success. Occasionally while starting up the client I will see an Active torrent (usually a seed), but that will go away within a few minutes. Some of the torrents I currently have at 0 KBps and 0 peers connected, are listed as having over 1000 peers, so it is definitely not a lack of peers to download from. I can add a torrent to qBittorrent and it works perfectly (including on the same port #, if I shutdown Bittorrent first), but lacks one or two features I prefer about Bittorrent. Any assistance would be appreciated. I would really rather not have to find another torrent client.
  9. Hello, I downloaded the last version of bittorrent 7.9.2 and now the download speed doesn´t show up or the peers, but I can see at the bottom that something is being downloaded. I don´t want to re install because I have some files being downloaded so I don´t want to lose them. Any thoughts? thanks in advance!
  10. To anyone who can help, We have just purchased a new Windows 8 laptop and have since installed BitTorrent 7.9.2 on it. We tried putting BitTorrent to use, but for over 3 days it hasn't advanced past the "Finding Peers 0.0%" stage. Two different torrents from the same (trusted) site have given us the same problem, and the antivirus software currently installed is avast! Did we miss something? Any help would be appreciated.
  11. I am recently having a problem with a torrent which I am downloading from archive.org I am connected to 2 high speed peers. Download starts with maximum speed but after about an hour, the download stops. After Stopping and Starting the torrent, Downloading begins again. Any suggetions are appreciated.
  12. I've never had this problem before and I've been using torrents for a while. For the past few days, none of the torrents I've tried have been downloading. When I checked in the trackers tab, the status is "Tracker reply has no peers field". I haven't changed any settings at all. This happened across multiple torrents. How can I fix this? I have switched ISP's lately, but it's been a while and this problem only started a few days ago. What could be the problem? Please help.
  13. hi, i am using bittorrent since 2 years by now. but i have noticed that although bittorrent is connected to those peers and seeders that have an "s" in their flags like DS, Ds ihxep, dsp etc as shown in the peers tab in bittorrent , but it does not download from them a thing. what is meaning of the flags shown against such peers , and how to download from them , as sometime they are the only peer or seeder available can anyone help?
  14. Alright, Sooooooooooo~ I downloaded bittorent the other day after utorrent decided it wasn't going to work, and i'm having the exact same issue. I downloaded an anime from bakabt.com (33.3GB) and I have the space I need for the download. I left the program on for 9hrs and when i returned it was still telling me it was finding peers. I would like to know if there is something i'm not doing correctly or if i'm essentially screwed if there aren't any peers or are there ways to bypass this and just get my files? it is my first torrent and my first time using torrenting softwares. T ^T please help, i'd love to watch my anime, it was the only place i could finally find it. it says that there are 16 peers in swarm and 115 seeds in the parenthesis, however there are 0 of 0 connected in both
  15. So, I'm new at the whole torrent and downloading business, but a few months ago I downloaded it onto my old windows 7 laptop, and it worked perfectly! The downloads were slow due to internet speeds, but I didn't have any problems. i recently got a new laptop, intalled all my programs, made sure they were suited for the new operating system, bit, etc. and ever since I installed BitTorrent, it isn't working. The little arrow stars out green, it says it's downloading but I have 0 peers and it is 0% for a few minutes and then the arrow turns red. I've purposely tried to download ones that have lots of peers and are frequent downloads to see if it's just that, but so far nothing is working. I restarted and still no results. I know uTorrent has their own forums and stuff, but I figured I would mention that I've also tried that program and still, no results. I'm pretty sure my computer isn't blocking it because I made an exception in firewall, I'm not sure if it's my internet just yet because I'm going to try on a different wifi connection to see if that makes a difference, but the speed isn't the problem. I will keep trying different things, but I figured I'd like some responses and suggestions sooner rather than later before I leave fast wifi Windows 8 64 bit BitTorrent 7.9 (checked for updates, it's the newest)
  16. A year ago I created a torrent with about 100 files. Now a year later I want to create a new torrent wich includes the 100 files from the previous torrent and about 50 new files. All these files are on my computer, but the old torrent has a lot of peers and seeders and I like to include those peers/seeds for the 100 files wich many people already have downloaded. I already found a option called "Similair Torrents" wich seems wat I need but I cannot find an explanation about it (don't know what to put in there). (see arrow in included image) Maybe someone can help me out? Tanks in advance, WhiteFang PS: sorry about my bad english
  17. I got bittorrent yesterday and it was working fine. then today whenever i try to dowload a torrent, it says connecting to peers and doesnt change.
  18. I have tried utorrent and bitorrent, it dosent matter if I try thepiratebay or extratorrent, anything I try to download shows up in my downloading software but just says connecting to peers. It never connects, I am having this issue on 2 different computers. all of the programs have been uninstalled and reinstalled with stock settings. I don't understand why this is because I was able to download then I wasn't. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this issue?
  19. My bitTorent downloads are fine and fast until I started to notice that the downloads were getting slow. It happened during the third week of December. The download is very slow. The down speed is 1.3 kb/s while the up speed is 9.9 kB/s. The usual speed when I'm downloading ranges from 100 kB/s to 200 kB/s. Whenever I check speedtest.net, the results are: Ping: 15 ms Download: 1.44Mbps Upload: 0.78Mbps So I don't think that our connection or server is the problem. I thought that the problems are: 1. The seeds 2. Many people are downloading But then, this slow download is still happening now which is unusual because it's already three weeks since this has happened. I've read in one of the forums here that there maybe a problem in the ISP. I don't know how to fix an ISP. Can someone please help me? I really want to return the download speed of my bitTorrent. Thank you!
  20. Greetings, I am new to torrenting but I have a problem/ annoyance already. About every week, not any day or pattern in particular, my BitTorrent client will not download anything and get stuck on the message "Connecting to Peers". In the peers tab, none show, and in the trackers tab there are trackers but they have varying statuses(none except for two say working). I have already tried uninstalling reinstalling and changing torrent clients but this always happens to me. I also looked into ports but am new to this so I did not get what they were talking about. Does anybody know if the ports or proxy are my problem or is this just something that cannot be fixed. Thank you!
  21. I don't know what I did , but one day, my torrents just decided to stop loading. I click on the torrents, the bittorrent window opens, but it won't load the torrent on the grey window-thingy (I'm a computer idiot, let's just get that fact out of the way...) and when I get tired of the wheel thing spinning, and just click "Ok" it appears in my torrent window, but it gets stuck on "Finding peers" and then.... that's it. Also, for full disclosure, I also downloaded utorrent and it happened there too. Any ideas, smart people? Did I do something dumb? Is it because I drop my computer on most days? Is this on me? I sure hope not.
  22. Hello All, I've been using BT for years with no issues. I recently got a new router from Xfinity, and now I'm having issues. At first DHT showed error so I followed a that thread for a remedy to no avail. I unstalled and reinstalled BT, and it worked like a charm. Next day, won't connect to peers, so I reinstalled and deleted reg entries to no avail. I'll list as much as I can FYI. Current Error: DHT: 0 nodes (Login) All DHT and UPnP setting in BT are checked. I've set Protocol Encryption: under Preferences > BT to Enabled I've set UPnP: in router to Enabled. Exceptions added to Firewall and Webroot AV. I exited BT and deleted dht.old etc in appdata folder and restarted. Nope. So, I've followed all relevant threads I could find, and I just can't figure this out. Thanx in Advance
  23. PFA for real scene...please someone guide me how can I resume my download which is 45% completed of 11 GB big data. thnx in Advance
