  1. I try to create a torrent which is no problem normally. This one is. Maybe it's because there are a lot of sub-directories. Anyway, normally Bittorrent uses like 110MB while creating this torrent the memory use seems to grow exponentinal and the latest number before crashing is 1.3GB of memory use. It says it wants to reserve another 33GB and I've only got 24GB I attached the dump file and if it went well there should be some error reports send by bittorrent as well. If there is a beta I can try using the same files let me know and I'll test it. Or if there is something else I can try I'm happy to hear. For me this seems like a big memory leak (bug) and don't think settings will change anything for now. I'm running Windows 10 build 15063.296 and like I said, have 24GB of memory. Keep up the good work! 43581-bittorrent.64a7.dmp edit: I found out there were Russian symbols as folder name (Новая папка) and an extended dash symbol. I removed these but still same problem
  2. Hi all, coming from utorrent 2.2.1 and trying now BitTorrent 6.4 to eventually switch. In utorrent, when clicking on a torrent (not magnet) link, a window would display and show internal files (as chosen in preferences settings). I set up the same preferences in BitTorrent but the files won't show and will toggle straight to the main downloading window. From what I understand here and here, one needs to display the toolbar (which I do) and to click the 'toggle view' button. The latter doesn't show on my end. Has it disappeared since a prior version or am I just blind? If not blind, how can I get this display-inner-files option work its way? Any help welcome and appreciated.
  3. I'm sure this question/feature-request may have been asked before. I'm fascinated with the bit torrent and it's potential but most of the ideas I have for utilizing bit-torrent require the ability to allow torrents that can be updated and, those updates being able to propagate to all seeders. I understand now that it is not possible - you would have to create a new torrent. This is inefficient because the new torrent effectively invalidates the former yet there is no way to link them and, you'd need to proliferate a new torrent, potentially with many duplicate files for only a small change. It would be *wonderful* if torrents could somehow allow change, versioning and propagation. Is that on the roadmap or otherwise specifically discouraged?
  4. Hi all Has anyone experienced problems lately pulling down bundles? I can click on a bundle download link, and the 'your download has started' pop-up appears, but the bundle doesn't get downloaded and doesn't appear in the list of torrents. I've rebooted the computer, shut down and reopened BT, yet nothing seems to help. Any clues? Cheers, Gryph
  5. Hello Sir, there is a question in my mind searching for 2 month in the internet but never get a answer of it. please help me to know the answer of my question. we have small ISP network and setup a torrent cache server provided by a company which working so nicely. but the system is very costly so we want to implement the same thing to save some money so that we can provide more cheap internet service to our client. they have setup a Private IP route in our core route 10.10.242.0/24 route to 103.xx.XX.103 103.xx.XX.103 is cache server ip and also added those private ip to the server 10.10.242.1 to 10.10.242.254 my question how client are getting private ip at the time of downloading and uploading the torrent? http://imagebin.ca/v/2ZIu7uD9Ysvl check the image of the torrent client they are not using local peer discovery protocol. the IP are coming from a tracker which is added to a magnet link whenever client download the torrent they get peer from private ip The idea of cache is very simple they are using multiple libtorrent instances to save thousands of torrent in the server requesting you to solve my question thank you
  6. Hi guys, I was reading up on the best VPNs when I came across an article saying that uTorrent sends packets out with our IP addresses in them, making the use of a VPN while torrenting futile. Is this the case with Bittorrent? I only paid for my VPN in order to torrent without being hassled by my ISP. Hypothetically.
  7. I downloaded a video using utorrent on my Mac, which I do very frequently. But with the last few videos or so, especially when I download from ETRG videos, the first five minutes or so of the video are very skippy. Could this be a problem with the uploader, or is it an issue on my end?

  9. Hi, I've been having this problem over and over. I uninstall it, and re-install it and sometimes it works and sometimes not. I have restarted the computer every time and nothing. It happens also with other Torrents softwares, not only BitTorrent. I also re-download the setup.exe or the torrent files to open them with the BitTorrent. I've read some topics but haven't solve the problem so far. I'm the only one using this notebook, one user only (admin, of course), don't have any virus, malware, spyware, nothing. It started failing yesterday. Thanks!!
  10. I recently updated to the newest BT, El Capitain OS, and reset my computer once. BT loads but when I started it, I had to force a recheck. I come back like three hours later and when I came back all my torrents that finished that I wanted to seed had gone away. Any help?
  11. So, I've been using Bit Torrent for... actually, maybe about three years now that I think about it (Moving on, before the fact that I've spent three years using one application, baffles me into incoherence) and I do apologize if anything you find in this post... distasteful to your good sense of proper file sharing (You'll get what I mean) See the Disclaimer. DISCLAIMER: The only reason I know how to use Bit Torrent, is because I asked a friend to walk me through it and knowing how incapable I am with technology (If I were to describe my skill, without aid, in finding or using applications and services online (Like Steam and all that jazz) I wouldn't say I'm on the same level as a vegetable, but I am at the grandparent level; pretty much useless) he wrote me a double-side looseleaf (and went into crazy detail, he really packed the words onto that page) with instructions, so again, if I'm doing something horribly wrong, (I asked Reddit a few weeks ago, an answer or two popped up and the rest was scorn for how I used Bit Torrent) Please, correct me on the errors of my ways and that alone may be enough to solve whatever issues I may be having. So, really, knowing so little about what I'm doing and just following my buddy's instructions, this is probably going to be the short part of my cry for help. I've rarely ever had problems with Bit Torrent in the past, but as of late, I have been having trouble getting downloads to simply start and when they do, the down and upload speed very quickly shrivel and die, blowing away in the wind. It's been nearly a month now since I've been able to get a single torrent up to 60% before it shit out on me. So, as far as I can tell you, HONESTLY, this is the problem I'm having and I have no deeper knowledge for the cause. I'll be checking back every couple hours of the day, so if you need to know something or post something so you can see the issue for yourself, I can. Just please remember, I'm just two-steps short of being brain-dead when it comes to this stuff, so please be very detailed and patient with me. Otherwise, we'll both just end up frustrated. I appreciate all the help I may receive and to those of you who figure out the issues I'm having, I offer blessings by the hundred fold (DISCLAIMER 2: I am in no way politically, religiously or economically licensed to offer or give out "Real" blessings, but I'll see if I can pull some strings for you kind people) Gratefully yours, Wesley Robert Simpson
  12. New here so sorry if I posted in the wrong section. My download speeds are being really weird, at first they were at 300-400kbs for several hours, and all of a sudden over night, the speeds dropped to between 0.0kbs to 1kbs. And now (several hours later) I notice that the speeds are acting really weird and going as low as 0kbs up to 100kbs give or take, and it seems comepletely random. Any ideas?
  13. Hello! How I can load huge torrent file? 25 MB. Example: [REMOVED] Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit BT 7.9.3 (bulid 40299) And This magnet link does not work: 400 GB magnet:[REMOVED]
  14. Hello. I used to use uTorrent. I loved it because it was easy to organize my tv shows, etc. I began using qBittorent when I was told negative things about uTorrent and my laptop's safety. I've been trying to find the option in the settings where it will allow me to keep my torrents on the list after they've finished downloading. Once they've completed downloading they delete off the list and I don't like that. Can anyone please help me out with this? Thank you.
  15. BitTorrent doesn't make a new folder for a new torrent, for example if I download an album with 10 songs, it wont make a folder with the album title and put the songs inside. Instead, everything that should be inside the folder will just be put in my downloads folder. Anyone knows how to fix this?
  16. Hi, I was downloading a file and was just hoping to get one file from it. The original torrent was about 350 gb when I got it. I deselected all of them but one, and started downloading. Once it finished, i got the one file and everything was good. The only problem was that I was down about 350 gb on my Hard drive. Ive tried a google search and nobody seems to know how to delete these files and how to get rid of them. I was at 1.05 TB and now I am at about 724 gb left on my hard drive. Please help
  17. Few weeks ago everything was okay, neighbors(land owners) were sharing their internet trough cable for free and only using WI-FI. My torrent speed was constant 1.2~1.4 MB/s . But they didn't really get good WI-FI signal in their furthest house rooms so they bought http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WR1043ND and connected it with cable to our old DRG A125G router which is using dsl connection. My PC is still connected to DRG A125G with cable. Ever since my download speed from websites and regular links stayed the same ~1.4 MB/s, but my torrent speed decreased to 50~100 kB/s and strangely my bad upload speed ~80 kB/s didn't change. I tried uTorrent and BitTorrent both were similar... Tried connecting my PC cable to new router ethernet ports and it worked (speed was ~1.4 MB/s) for a while, but it started to slow down again today... Strangely Slackware was downloading ~1.4 MB/s while other torrents from Kickass and PTB were slow. Any ideas what could be done to improve torrent download speed?
  18. So I get an error message whenever I try to add a torrent to my torrent list. I've done some googling, but no one seems to have fixing my issues. I've checked the labels tag, and tried opening it multiple times by clicking the arrow. I've tried added them manually and many other things. Thanks for your help in advance.

  20. Hello all, I using a 17inch macbook pro from 2010, running OSX 10.9.4. I've downloaded bit torrent, but everytime I download a torrent file, it shows up on my computer as a disk mounted img or (.dmg) file and when I click on it, it just opens up the installer for MPlayerX......everytime with every torrent! Anyone know what could be the nature of this issue? Thanks for all responses!
  21. There is a option in Bit-torrent to add a torrent from end user directory, but it wont work and can't be seen or downloaded if it isn't uploaded to a specific storage web space on internet I was wondering is it possible to add a Add torrent function without the need to upload the torrent file to internet, so it can be accessed directly for other users from Bittorent. Example:1 Maybe once I add my torrent from my directory, somehow the Bittorent can index it on the fly or something and save it to temporary location until is downloaded from other users and after that can be flagged as active torrent and from that point somehow it will automatically gets uploaded to internet, to a random or specific location.
  22. I have a Linkstation 420 NAS with BitTorrent built in. When going to the preferences I am unsure what and where I am supposed to set my files to go. I have noticed that there are an 'active' and 'torrent_files' folders in the BitTorrent folder. Which of these should I be using for; " Put new downloads in" "Move completed downloads to" "Store torrents in" "move torrents for finished jobs to" and what is best practice for the final files. I'm open to suggestions Thanks Torbs
  23. So, I'm new at the whole torrent and downloading business, but a few months ago I downloaded it onto my old windows 7 laptop, and it worked perfectly! The downloads were slow due to internet speeds, but I didn't have any problems. i recently got a new laptop, intalled all my programs, made sure they were suited for the new operating system, bit, etc. and ever since I installed BitTorrent, it isn't working. The little arrow stars out green, it says it's downloading but I have 0 peers and it is 0% for a few minutes and then the arrow turns red. I've purposely tried to download ones that have lots of peers and are frequent downloads to see if it's just that, but so far nothing is working. I restarted and still no results. I know uTorrent has their own forums and stuff, but I figured I would mention that I've also tried that program and still, no results. I'm pretty sure my computer isn't blocking it because I made an exception in firewall, I'm not sure if it's my internet just yet because I'm going to try on a different wifi connection to see if that makes a difference, but the speed isn't the problem. I will keep trying different things, but I figured I'd like some responses and suggestions sooner rather than later before I leave fast wifi Windows 8 64 bit BitTorrent 7.9 (checked for updates, it's the newest)
  24. A year ago I created a torrent with about 100 files. Now a year later I want to create a new torrent wich includes the 100 files from the previous torrent and about 50 new files. All these files are on my computer, but the old torrent has a lot of peers and seeders and I like to include those peers/seeds for the 100 files wich many people already have downloaded. I already found a option called "Similair Torrents" wich seems wat I need but I cannot find an explanation about it (don't know what to put in there). (see arrow in included image) Maybe someone can help me out? Tanks in advance, WhiteFang PS: sorry about my bad english
