Bittorrent hogging network.

Just changed (from a different client) to Bittorent 7.8, and unlike what the features state, Bittorrent hogs the network. It appears that the download speed does slow down, but I am still unable to browse the web. Sometimes it works ok, if I set the dl limit to 100kbs (my max is about 600kbs). I would really like the inteligent bandwidth to work like it says. Any settings to help?
