book mad
Hi, I have noticed that i have a yellow triangle at the bottom of my torrent page, which when i go over says there might be trouble with my connections, when i press on the triangle the test guide comes up, but when i press the forward port test all i get a is a web page saying 404 page not available, so i cannot test my forward port. I'm also having trouble with getting my torrents to restart after i have closed my computer even though i exit torrents before i shut my computer off, is this do to my connections. I use Virgin Broadband with download speeds of up to 30mb.
aalbert
I know my port forwarding is set up properly (I can see using wireshark all the incoming connections to the port I selected, plus the status icon is green and says Network OK). However, the Network test in the Setup Guide always says Port is not open (you are still able to download). I looked into this using Wireshark and I see that an http request (with User-agent BTWebClient) attempts to send a request to http://utorrent.com/testport?plain=1&port=xxxxx (xxxxx is my port). This gets a 301 reply with http://www.utorrent.com/testport?plain=1&port=xxxxx. That request fails with 404. I guess at one time, utorrent had a port forwarding test service running. I don't know how long this has been broken (since at least last November - there's another forum post about it). The idea that bittorrent is sending anything to utorrent seems like a bug, but I don't really know. Anyway, as a reply to the November post states, the status icon is authoritative.
