what is Status = "flushing to disk (1578)" and how do get my download going again??

In the status column it says "flushing to disk (1578)". I have no idea what this means and can't get the download going again. It's 95% done and there is plenty of room on my hard drive, which is where I'm sending it, so I have no idea why it stopped.

I am not tech savvy, so please answer for a layperson...

Your buffer is full, and the bittorent app is trying to write it to your hard disk, but is failing. You should probably check if something is using the file, in wich case it cannot be written to.
