Old (literally) Pro user, new problem

Been using Bittorent Pro for quite a while with few issues.  Always satisfied until today.  Service provider temporarily shut me down today.  When I called in to report no service they tell me not only did they receive a complaint from a 'show' provider but though I removed the download from Bittorrent, and shut down the program, Bittorrent was still seeding.  For now I deleted BT as well as my cookies.  Again, just for reference I had been using the Pro edition.  I would like to resume use but with more anonymity and with the knowledge of when I shut the program down, it shuts down.  . Suggestions, advice?  TIA
