Can a torrent survive a format?

I need to format my computer pretty soon, but I have 2 torrents that are rather large and slow they are both around the 75% complete mark but have very few seeds so will take at least a week or more to complete.

Both files were started off magnet links so I don't have the .torrent files to back up.

I can back up the incomplete files no problem but can I re-start these downloads after I format?

yes can back up all directories pertaining to bittorrent then after format return them to the drive and set bitorrent to their respective directories so they can be recoginized by bittorrent.

i do this all the time move directories but you have to get them all and just do a forced recheck of all the files.

you need the directories that you set up completed downloads - finished downloads - new downloads - stored torrents - torrent downloads old. all under a folder like torrents . this is how mine is setup.
