newbie.. how to get started..etc..

Feel kind of dumb but I think i've only used this service like a couple of times over the years.. and forgot how to download torrents or get the files I want.. Basicly from the menus what should i do first to download a file i want. I'm not a dumb person at all,in fact well educated but i used another P2P program for years and suddenly it does not work anymore of late. Thanks for responding
