alobar699 Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 I've downloaded bittorrent now for the 4th time; I keep on having to uninstall because it freezez my computer. I'm in mortal terror of not getting this posted before it does so again! lol. I'm on an Elonex webbook OS Windows7 Is anyone experiencing the same prob?
Guest alobar699 Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 What internet security software do you have installed?
Guest alobar699 Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 I;ve only got Windows Defender as standard with Windows7. No other anti-virus program. Protected mode is on and security level medium.. Might this be part of the prob?
Guest mattersfact2 Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 I have a similar problem. My 3 week old laptop freezes completely to the point of no control of anything, no mouse, no ability to hit Ctl/Alt/Del, so no Task Manager either.... The only way I can get back onto my system is to hit the power button to shut it off and restart. It only seems to happen while downloading torrents with BitTorrent. I have Windows 7 Home Premium on an ASUS A52F series laptop. I updated my BIOS and the drivers for my NIC, but it still freezes. I could be surfing the web, moving files around, or just letting BitTorrent run, and the result is the same: total freeze up. If I try to let it run and it has the opportunity to enter sleep mode, then I have a laptop that is frozen with a black screen.I've done memtest, check my HD for errors, ran powercfg -energy in cmd.exe with very few errors, core temp is good.I use Kaspersky (full scan found no viruses).I uninstalled most bloatware that came with the system. By process of elimination, I am closer to believing that this is somehow related to a conflict when BitTorrent is running, as the laptop only seems to freeze up while BitTorrent is running.
qwerty20 Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 I do too... The power button doesn't work. The only way I solved my problem is by draining my laptop battery that was full, and that took 3 hours. I also had to update all my drivers, which took like 30 minutes, what a pain... I tried to put a 3 million kb file (the smallest I have), could this be the problem? -qwerty20 I have a similar problem. My 3 week old laptop freezes completely to the point of no control of anything, no mouse, no ability to hit Ctl/Alt/Del, so no Task Manager either....
