Guest iisthphir Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 I just installed bittorrent after reinstallig windows and told it explicitly NOT to install the bittorrent community toolbar. Next time i open up my browser, guess whats there? So i open up my other browser.. surprise!! It installed itself in ALL my browsers (Firefox, chrome, and IE). So why does the option whether to install or not actually not make any difference i wonder?Anyway not a big problem.. just uninstall it (I don't like toolbars) but i think maybe it should do what it says.. I really dont see how this can be an unintentional mistake, it has only happened since last update.
Harold Feit Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 How many of the checkboxes did you have unchecked on the toolbar page of the installer?
Guest Crab Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Yeah, I had the same surprise. Turns out, that privacy policy check box at the end was also an INSTALL THIS TOOLBAR checkbox. Real classy, guys.
Guest Crab Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Oh, and uninstalling it doesn't remove it from the browser. Unscrupulous internet business practices, whoopie!
Guest Kate Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 So does anybody know how to actually uninstall the tool bar from chrome? i uninstalled the toolbar AND BT but the toolbar is still there... HELP?!
