Guest Gletob
So at my local technical school, we in the Cisco Networking Academy hold a gaming tournament fund raiser every year. Now we always provide a free copy of the game. For example this year we did CS:S and got Valve's permission to distribute the game, and they gave us free 3-day licenses to give out. This is out current model for distribution.Server 1 Server 2 Server 3 HTTP HTTP HTTP | | | Router--------Router------------Router|||||||||| |||||||| |||||||||Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 ~20 People ~20 People ~20 PeopleEveryone comes in at a staggered pace, all over about 1-2 hours. Now we distribute a script, that automatically connects to a server, and downloads the game. How can we use Bittorrent for this? Would it provide faster download speeds to everyone?
Harold Feit
If everyone agrees to torrent, yes it could potentially speed things up, but it depends a lot on your actual configuration, and how much of your equipment is gigabit.
