need .SyncIgnore example

Please help me understand how the filtering works. The file for creating blacklists should be named ".syncignore.txt" (UTF-8 encoded) and put on the shared folder like this?

shared_folder\.syncignore.txt

I have included in the text file the following entries but they don't seem to be working so I am not sure what the problem could be.

*.iso
*.r??
*.sfv

Please send me a sample of a working .SyncIgnore file,
