Guest Erin Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Okay, so I didn't really know how to use bit torrent and for the last couple of days I've just downloaded things and left my computer laying around, which naturally went to sleep after a couple of minutes..hence whatever seeding was taking place was cut off. In addition, we just moved and the internet is still working out little bugs.In the past (i've only used BitTorrent in China), this has never been an issue, but now I've been receiving the following message: [2011-09-20 22:19:43] 68.183.190.24:58352(Despicable Me DVDRip XviD-iMBT): [Transmission 2.13 (87.6)]: Banning peer: too many pex messages. 5 since Tue Sep 20 22:19:43 2011and others like it: so what does that mean? Am I a leech now? How do I change my settings to make me not a leech? I am not super tech savvy, so reading the FAQs for bit torrent is really confusing to me. I live in a studio apartment and I don't especially want my computer running all night.Any advice would be great. Thanks!!!
Harold Feit Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 It means that transmission is misbehaving. Nothing you're doing is the cause of this.
Guest Erin Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 So does that mean I will be slowed down when I download? or no?
