downloads stop

All of a sudden (been on for years with no problems) my downloads start fine then drop off eventually to nothing. It sits there showing it's downloading with absolutly 0 download speed. Only way to start is to restart program. Then same thing happens each time.

Also, it shows tons of seeds avail (in brackets) but goes down to 0 connected.

If the number of peers you connect to also drop, you're probably overloading something in your connection.

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 has steps you can follow to try to reduce the overloads.

thank you but wow, a lot of things to do in there , where do you start ?? Also i dont see anything in there about 'overloading connection'

idea why it would just do that all of a sudden ?

It actually does have steps for your specific issue.

Something may have changed recently in one or more components that needs to be adjusted.

12 detailed steps in there with Restarting µTorrent, your computer, modem, and/or router after performing each of them ?! For real ... I guess i'll try to get this program working again when i have a full day off work and kids to work on it....

like i said, it just did it automatically from one day to the next without me touching anything.

well, i've gone through most of the steps and its absolutely worse. Starts up ok but drops off all seeds within 10 minutes. These are easy files. Crazy frustrating !
