Trackerless BitTorrent

Recently, I have heard about the Trackerless BitTorrent from a Research Scholar at my college. But unfortunately, I couldn't come across much information about it in the Internet. Could anyone kindly give me an insight on this?

It gave me a much needed idea about how it works.

But does anyone here know whether there is a client of Bittorrent which works on the LAN, without a need for the Internet? Like an intra-net P2P file sharing application?

BitTorrent on its own just needs reachable IP addresses and ports. You can set up a traditional tracker system and use exclusively internal IP addresses provided the machines can connect to each other.

Thank you for the info. But how do we set up a traditional tracker system on a Local Network?

use a tracker package such as the one included in bittornado or one of the other packages out there, set it up internally and use the internal address of the system as the tracker address
