Fenix
Sorry guys, I know it seems like a stupid question, but I've already tried all kind of guides and videos for por forwarding and I'm still unable to do that, BitTorrent just keep saying that "port is not open". My system is windows 7, and I use avast and comodo antivirus. Can someone help me?

Harold Feit
Are you using proxy settings in BitTorrent?
Fenix
No, should I?
Harold Feit
No. Using proxy settings causes blocking of incoming connections (which is what BitTorrent is checking for with its status bar indicator) The port tester in the setup guide may not be working properly at this time so if you're basing your results on that, they may not be accurate. Fenix
Uh, ok. And yes, I'm basing my results on the port tester. When will I be able to rely on it?
Harold Feit
Unknown. The status icon in the status bar of the bittorrent window is authoratative in case of conflicting results.
