Citizen
I got a new computer and my downloads are at about 40-170 kbps. A lot slower than the last computer. Pretty sure I did everything the same setup wise. Is my ISP messing with me and if so, how can I tell, and how can I stop it?
Harold Feit
Do torrents from http://www.slackware.com/getslack/torrents.php do the same?
Citizen
I'm not completely sure about what all this source code stuff is on slackware. I just wanted movies not software. Am I suppose to install slackware or what? Sorry for my ignorance.
Harold Feit
Just download it. You don't need to install it. I want to see what speeds you get with it.
Citizen
A lot faster. 600+ kbps. Now its 2 Mbps
Harold Feit
Then the problem is more likely either your own settings (which are likely bad if you followed a setup guide from youtube to configure BitTorrent) or the specific torrents you're downloading are not of the condition to allow you to download them fast. Citizen
I didn't follow a setup guide from youtube. Which settings should I be looking at and using for best results.
Harold Feit
Ultimately, uTorrent's slow speed guide from http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 gives the best steps to follow.
