Pathetic lag.

Hello, I have become fed up with the system lag the latest versions of your program are causing. Within minutes of starting a torrent my system becomes unusable. The mouse fragments all over the screen and if left for 1 hour or more, my wireless connection actually fails.

Not only this, but any mp3 player used, bleeps, squeals and fails to play music.

As soon as I exit your program, the system becomes stable like nothing happened.

I have used your program for many years, and I cant believe what you have done to it. Ever since the icon went from green to purple...ok...before that even... this program has become a joke.

Before you claim its my system, have win xp, service pack 3 completely updated, java updated and a 3.4G intel. with 2G of RAM.

I can load just 1 torrent and it will freeze up.

I can run slsk for days on end...weeks even without problem... So I need to ask..

WTF!!! Have you done to this program to cause this??

It renders my pc unusable and it is the same system that ran your old versions fine.

Please explain.

What internet security software do you have installed?

What other applications do you have (like stardock and rocketdock) do you have installed?

I use avast6. I do have rocket dock installed. While I'm happy to remove it, can you explain why you have noted it? as in, why would you assume (or know) my problems would be associated with it?

I'm pretty sure I had these problems with BT before its installation?

Because, across two forums (uTorrent and BitTorrent both) I've seen it cause a LOT of problems because of how it hooks into the program's process.

Other than that, we may need hijackthis logs and process explorer dll lists for the bittorrent.exe process (instructions at: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=29748 )

That it is, and RocketDock is injected into the process there. It needs to not be, and the most reliable way I know of to remove it is to temporarily uninstall RocketDock.

OK, just a follow up to this. I removed rocket dock and still had some lag. It did reduce it though, to the point the computer was usable, but my media player was still jumpy and had squalling while playing.

I then went into avast and turned off the p2p scanning.

This appears to have stopped the problem.
