kalessin Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 Hi there. I have a habit of renaming my files, changing directories and changing the original torrent. Is there any way to re-seed these files once I've changed the original download?
Harold Feit Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 Either use set download location in the upper panel or the relocate option on the files tab.
kalessin Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 One more question. What happens if the seed was accidentally deleted from bittorrent? Do I create a new one? And how?
Harold Feit Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Re-add the torrent. The user manual (f1 in the main interface) has a "migration guide" in it that gives you the steps to follow in that case.
kalessin Posted January 4, 2014 Author Report Posted January 4, 2014 Unfortunately I didn't save the original torrent files and I have (in most cases) changed the actual file name too (from what it was when I downloaded it). But I see there is a button to create new torrent. How will I know what web site will 'see' the seeding file? Do I copy the tracker URL on a web site that has the torrent and add it to the trackers?
Harold Feit Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Do NOT create a new torrent. Re-download the torrent from the original website and relocate on all renamed files.
kalessin Posted January 5, 2014 Author Report Posted January 5, 2014 Do I have to download the whole file again? Or can I just start it, stop it and point it to the file on my HDD?
Harold Feit Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Load it, don't start it automatically, then point it to the files.
kalessin Posted January 7, 2014 Author Report Posted January 7, 2014 So I downloaded a new file yesterday and I took it out of the directory it came in, renamed it and put it where I put all my movies. I clicked on force recheck and it wanted to download the file all over again. I'm not going to do that. I am happy to seed the file I have renamed in the directory I have put it, but I won't download the file all over again just so that it has the same file structure as the original torrent. Please advise. And could you explain the process of loading? I have tried to re-seed a torrent that I had deleted but it also wants to download the file again.
