Red Error

This is KILLING me I am downloading a GIANT file and it keeps stopping at random.  I restart, it runs awhile (5 min or 5 hours) then stops) !!!  This is a new computer with a super fast HD!  The only thing I can add that might provide a clue is I notice when a torrent finishes instead of seeding it gets the red error also.  I seem not to have this problem much with smaller torrents only now and then and one restart usually fixes it no prob.  Right now I am at about 75% of a 75 gig download and I can't stop I'm going crazy.  (And of course with all these errors the torrent probably won't work)  I'm into day 4 here, any advice greatly appreciated.

Ok, so the torrent itself is probably dead.

Just to verify, "the torrent itself is probably dead".  What does this mean?  I have download lots of stuff but I don't pretend to know how it works exactly so I appreciate your answer.

It means that the specific torrent you're trying to download won't complete.

Well, it did finally.  I got it after 37 hrs and at least 50 restarts.  The torrent works and the quality is good.  ???

 

Correction all I ended up with was 68.1 gigs of junk. (should've been 75) That's what I get for being stubborn.  The torrent is active still and there are a lot of seeders but I guess it's junk.
