tonymoonlp Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 I just downloaded BitTorrent and tried to download some torrents and they are not advancing beyond connecting to peers. please help?
Harold Feit Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 What tracker status message do you have on the trackers tab?
tonymoonlp Posted March 18, 2014 Author Report Posted March 18, 2014 udp://tracker.istole.it:80/announce connection timed out, everything else says working
Harold Feit Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Do torrents from http://slackware.com/getslack/torrents.php work or no?
tonymoonlp Posted March 18, 2014 Author Report Posted March 18, 2014 yes the slackware is downloading
Harold Feit Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Then the problem is likely simply an issue with the specific torrents you're downloading and nothing actually to do with BitTorrent itself.
tonymoonlp Posted March 18, 2014 Author Report Posted March 18, 2014 any suggested sites do download torrents from?
sensitivetbman Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Okay, I've went to http://slackware.com...ck/torrents.php and tried to get a torrent, but I continue to get "Connecting to peers". What do I do to connect to them? Are there certain ports I need to open for this to work?
Harold Feit Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 If slackware doesn't work, it likely means your internet provider is outright blocking it. Opening ports on your side won't help in that case. Also, if slackware doesn't work you're not having the same issue and you are thread hijacking by posting in this thread.
