Elesker Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 I have been googling like a mad man but I couldn't find anything. I'm trying to make a list of working trackers for myself but I got confused do to all the differences for example this fake tracker: http://123.45.76.891:9090/announce.php some have UDP instead of http, why is this? so I after the IP comes the port. but is this necessary? some don't even have announce.php or only announce , this gives me the idea its not needed or is it in some-way 'scratches-head' ? Thank you in advance.
Harold Feit Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 some have UDP instead of http, why is this?different tracker protocol so I after the IP comes the port. but is this necessary? In all cases EXCEPT when the tracker is http on port 80 or https on port 443 some don't even have announce.php or only announce , this gives me the idea its not needed or is it in some-way 'scratches-head' ?If the tracker for a given site gives you an address with announce.php include the .php And as a heads up, creating a tracker list to add to every torrent you load needlessly puts excessive strain on trackers that you do add to your list http://ktetch.co.uk/2012/07/multi-tracker-ignorance-or-why-you-dont-html/
Elesker Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Posted April 27, 2014 thank you for your fast reply and thanks for the link, no I wont add over 9000 trackers to the list
