Apollo7771 Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 I am attempting to move about 3Tb of data at a hosting center in the UK to a hosting center in the US. I have 100 Mbit internet connections at both ends but when I hit the ocean it drops down to about 6 Mbit. To expedite the transfer I setup a private torrent running over VPN that uses 3 geographically different hosts in the US with one of the hosts being the US hosting center. Using private torrents tripled my transfer rate. Is there a way to configure 2 of the hosts to only download from the seed and upload to the destination host? And, if possible, ignore uploads from the destination host. Essentially they would act as proxies. Thanks for any help on this.
Apollo7771 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 I believe you., but I am curious why not. Is it the design of the torrent clients that disallows this? Or, does the torrent protocol prevent it in some way?
