ExRobotGuy Posted January 27, 2023 Report Posted January 27, 2023 As an avid 'torrenter' of 20 years, something leaves me puzzled. If a file is made 'available' for d/l [as in listed on various platforms] Why is that file, which I assume was once a seed, not available any more. If the original poster takes it down [I don't know how all this works!!], why is it still listed? Are some files w/ x peers just exchanging bits amongst themselves? Inquiring [non-technical minds] want to know! Thanks. Quote
ExRobotGuy Posted January 27, 2023 Author Report Posted January 27, 2023 Thanks, Harold. When a complete file is up-loaded, it becomes a 'torrent', I assume. Then this file is made available, and it is counted as a seed, [again, assuming] Therefore why would a file be listed as available for d/l if it doesn't exist [as per the '0' under seeds? Quote
ExRobotGuy Posted January 27, 2023 Author Report Posted January 27, 2023 Oh, I see. That helps explain it. The torrent file is listed, but the actual content is kept on the uploader's computer. Got it. So it's the t-file uploader who is at fault if there is no content available. Thank you, sir. Quote
