Download Speed Issue

Here within about the last week or so BitTorrent has started doing something rather annoying. Whenever I start a download it goes up to the normal speed for me (300kb/s) and will sit there for awhile, then after sitting there for a bit it'll drop to 9kb/s and never go higher than that. If I close BitTorrent it doesn't fully close and I have to go into Task Manager Processes and end process and BitTorrent. Then if I start it back up it starts checking what I was just downloading, gets to 99.6% and freezes there and never moves. If I hit the stop button and try to continue it'll cause BitTorrent to stop working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of BitTorrent (include the build number from help - about)?

Do you have any messages in the status bar?

BitTorrent 7.6.1 Build 27529 (32 Bit)

I didn't even notice that I had the status bar disabled so I couldn't tell you if there were messages or not. I downloaded something on BitTorrent earlier today and had the status bar active waiting for it to do it's normal slow 9kb/s again but it didn't. I'll just post again next time I'm downloading something and it does it.

this happens to me too. I'm using the same version as pmpshortfuse. So annoying. It starts downloading with 1mb/s and after some minutes, it drops to like 10kb/s and won't go up. It usually worked for me months ago, but now ... it's a huge fail.
