caw
Recently changed to wi-fi internet as cable was very slow 2-3mbs. I now have a good speed 10mbs. the engineer says the signal receiver/unit on the roof is connected to an access point via ethernet cable ...... from the access point it connects via ethernet to a router. From there my computers are wireless connected as they are in different rooms.with new speed i did the setup "testing" and it says the ports are not open. THEY WERE BEFORE. The engineer says that the PORTS cannot be opened (tcp setup) because of the access point.... receiving the signal first.???Any ideas of how to solve this issue as the download speed is now worse.??Is the engineer correct and there is nothing I can do.??Any suggestions would be most welcome. Many thanks in advance for any ideas. Harold Feit
The "Router" that is in the way is at your internet provider, not in your house. You're basically stuck.
