Tracker "not allowed"

I am attempting to download a torrent that shows over 100 peers and several seeds but nothing is happening (other torrents are downloading fine). When I go to the trackers list, the status of DHT, Local Peer Discovery, and Peer Exchange all say "not allowed". I am also not able to select these trackers from my preferences.

What is happening here?

I didn't know torrents could be private. I assume, knowing this, that the authorized users must share a password of some kind that the original uploader has provided (is this correct?). Is it possible to know who originally created the torrent and subsequently contact them?

Me again. It is interesting, however, that I was able to download about 60% of the torrent in question. If it is a private/flagged torrent, how was I able to do this? I noticed that other trackers were also listed. Can one tell that a torrent is flagged (other than the 'not authorized' message)?
